FIVE FAVORITES

| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |

Remember this post? Well, in a little over four weeks, that dream will becoming a reality. Eek! So excited! I am going to be in Paris and Rome! (insert happy dance). I am trying to figure out what essentials to pack. Everyone keeps telling me to pack light, which sounds great and totally makes sense. There is only one problem: I am one of the world's biggest over packers. When I go somewhere for a weekend, I bring enough to stay for 3 weeks! This is where all you fellow European travelers come in :) What do I NEED to bring? What should I leave at home? I would love to hear your advice!

Happy Wednesday! Thanks for reading! XO

  1. General rule of thumb is: pack, pause, then remove half of your things and bring twice the money!

You'll be there when it's hot, so you'll want some comfortable traveling clothes--shoes are essential. You feet will thank you after a day in a museum or running after buses.

You'll want your hands free, so a purse that slings or a small pocketbook is ideal. Watch out for pickpocketers in Rome! You don't have to have any special under-your-clothes money container, just common sense! Keep your eyes open in a crowd and while boarding in crowded train stations, especially toursity areas.

A camera is essential! Bring two batteries, fully charged, in case one dies or gets broken while you're in the middle of the Louvre or a cathedral.

Wow, I have too much advice! You've given me so many thoughts I may have to make my own post about it.

Do be safe and have fun!!!

(P.S. The water coming from the side fountains in St. Peter's Square is safe to drink, so fill up an empty bottle rather than buy an over-priced one from a tourist shop!)

  5. We were just in Italy for our honeymoon and it was HOT! SO check the weather! My favorite things to wear were comfy flats (or flat strappy sandals). Lots of walking in Rome for sure. Shorts aren't great if you plan to visit churches (many people had to cover up with these weird gauzy scarves they hand out at the door), so I did longer knee-length dresses and skirts. I would say go for cute comfort! You will love it!
